When you replace the battery in, do you only get a black screen and the solid red LED?

The LED never blinks? No white screen with a symbol in the middle of the screen?

When you connect the device to your PC, does it detect it?

It will reload the operating system onto your device. What happened that caused this problem to begin with? Did you drop the device, load 3rd party software or a theme? Get it wet?

Interesting. Not sure what happened. But reloading the OS on the device should fix things for you.

Not sure what would have caused it. Let us know how the OS reload goes.

Thanx "jsconyers" it took a while to download it but it only took about 20 mins to do the install and yes it worked like a charm. I should have backed it up I lost all my contacts but I really dont care my phone actually seems faster now for some reason? is it the new OS? well i have to replace all my contacts now but thank you very much I owe you a few beers if you are ever in L.A.

The phone is fater because it is essentially "new". I do suggest that you back up your phone as much as you can. Especially if you are not on a BES.
