Default Droid to Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and was hoping you guys could offer some advise. I recently upgraded my phone to a Moto Droid, awesome phone in every way but one, the font is so small I can barely ready it, its really starting to get annoying. Verizon tech says theres no way to adjust the size and don't know if that feature will be in later updates. I'm still in my 30 days and would like to trade in for a 9650 Bold. Would that be a "down grade" or is the Bold comparable to the Droid? I haven't read to many negative things about the Bold. My main use would be a good phone above all and some texting and browsing. Any advise from the Blackberry crowd would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

It would be an UPgrade in my book.

But, if you're going to get a BB and browsing is important to you (and you like a touchscreen), I'd recommend the Storm 2 over the 8650, for the bigger screen. Much nicer for web surfing.

Make sure that you read the FAQ, use the SEARCH feature and peruse the specific section for your device.

And also update your profile to show which model number that you have.

I would go to the store and play with the BB to see if it meets your needs.

Have you not found battery life to be an issue? I have a friend that swore by his Moto Droid and nearly talked me into one, but now he whines about how terrible the battery life is and how you need an application to be able to close down other applications...perhaps the battery life gets worse later on; he's had his Droid for about 6 months.

It was Droid vs. Bold 9650 for me as well, and the 9650 won. You were spoiled with the Droid's browser, so expect a downgrade there.

I recently posted a thread on this tough decision I faced. Here's the link, there's some great insight in the responses that you might find helpful. Much of it was pro-Droid, but I'm very happy with my decision.
