Default BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.1004 (Multilanguage) OS install help

Please Login to Remove!

I cant seem to get this on my phone.

I deleted the vendor.xml file in the apploader directory

when I run the apploader it gives me this error

the blackberry desktop desktop software does not have
blackberry device software for the device that
you have connected to the computer. Contact
your wirelesss service provider or system administrator

and when I try doing it with desktop manager it shows me a * at the end of the 5.0 in the list of available upgrades and the bottom of the screen there is this.

* Only active blackberry service subscribers are entitled to install this blackberry device software upgrade


its pissing me off, I'm trying to this on a computer with windows 7 and I do have a data plan on my phone

I had the same problem. Try installing by going to c:/program files/common files/research in motion/apploader and run Loader.exe it should work.

your device doesn't have active subscriber ID
Call rogers for assistance

or you can download software from https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...C068A355BBA31A
install software on your computer
back up your device
check in DTM is software is present
open dtm>options>about blackbery desktop manager> click on device software
if you can see device software in the list
then use this link

Data plan is only important if u doing OTA device software update
For device software update from desktop manager data plan is not necessary

Sorry - you are incorrect. More and more carriers they are requiring a Blackberry data plan in order to update to OS v5. There is a thread somewhere where someone came up with a workaround.

i'm pretty sure i have a blackberry data plan ... my bbm works and my gps works dunno how to tell i have a blackberry plan ...

Had the same issue I after I changed devices, had to register the new pin. It worked after that.
