Default Attachment Viewing Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have 2 8300's from Rogers that are unable to view attachments properly. (xls/doc) On either, I have the option to "View Attachment" but when I do, it just shows up as gibberish.

Our BES is configured correctly as 2 8700's and 2 8310's have no issues viewing attachments with the built in viewer.

The Attachment Service is installed on both devices and I updated to the latest firmware on one of them with no luck.

Can anyone help with this?

Any signing/encryption being used?

What software is running on the handhelds that are working? Not working?

What BES version are you running?

There is no additional encryption being used other than the standard BES encryption.

I'm only referring to the built-in viewer installed with the devices. (No eOffice or Beamberry)

BES is 4.1.2 for Lotus Domino. Upgrading to SP4 is on our project list.

Hmm. Don't know much about Domino.
Can those attachments be opened in the desktop client?

** edit - Do those handhelds have the BlackBerry Attachment service checked off in the application list when you connect them to Desktop Manager?

Absolutely, they can be opened on the desktop client. I would be very surprised if it was a Domino/BES issue. We don't have any restrictions in place and other model devices seem to work fine.

The Attachment Service is checked on in the application list.

I have been able to open one outside xls attachment and one internal xls attachment on one of the 8300's. The other 8300 can't open either. This is a very strange issue.
