I have been trying to set up my Treo 650 with BBC on sprint. I have had no luck in doing so. When I look at the bes user stats it informs me that the the last transaction has been "Refused by handheld". Redirection is enabled, the status is "Running",MDS is on,Policy status "Error" and the wmr is off.
Any help, I am using sprint vision. Is there something else I need to add to the plan?
As Sprint "does not officially support" the Treo with BES, I have not pushed it- I do have unlimited data. Before I push/beg/cajole a Sprint CSR into adding this (which may not be possible, depending on their systems), I'd like to get some confirmation that this is in fact the problem. The Treo shows 'connected', everything installs properly, and BES is pushing out mail to both other Blackberries and at least one Cingular Treo. If this is not the problem, I don't want to push it with Sprint- but if it is a provisioning issue, I'm happy to try.
Yes this is a provisioning issue. I had the same error/issue, and it was due to the PIN of the device not being registered/provisioned correctly with RIM network.
If you have T-support, you can call up RIM and give them the PIN of the device and ask them to check whether it is provisioned correctly if you really don't want to push Sprint without knowing for sure. They will tell you exactly what services that PIN is registered for.
As you mentioned, if Sprint does not officially support Treo with BES, then I'm not sure if they can do anything. I think Blackberry Connect might be different service than regular blackberry data plan, or it also depends on the device PIN as I mentioned. The user I had issue with already had Blackberry Unlimited, but still didn't work when he simply moved his SIM to the Treo. This was with Cingular however.
