Unhappy help with 507 error msgs

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Im new here and I really need some help I just bought a bb world edition. The vender that it is supposedly locked to is verizon. But my problem is that I can not get pass this 507 error mgs. At first it had 102 jvm error or something like that. I went to some blackberry forum and they said to wipe it clear and reinstall the os. This is what is irratating me because everytime I try to load the os its telling me: There is an XML syntax error on line1. I have no idea what to do,I have a very pretty paper weight now. I'm using windows ,but my 2nd machine is a mac and I'm wondering how do you use Mac's version of desktop manager to load apps,Im so lost.

thanx in advance for your help

You will need to wipe the device using Jl_cmdr and then reload the OS. Make sure you install an 8830 OS and remove the Vendor.xml file before you try the install on the BB.
You find that info in the FAQ

Doing it with a MAC is the hard part. If you can boot to Windows or find a windows PC to use, that would make the install much easier.

i used the jl.cmd to wipe the bb that's how i got the 507,before i had a 102 error screen. But i cant seem to get my desktop manager to upload the new info to the bb. I think I'm doing something wrong or maybe I missed a step. I wiped it clean with jl.cmd and received 507 error after that. I then hooked it to desktop manager and tried up up load the new os i got from here. The desktop manager told me there were no applications for my bb,or maybe i downloaded the wrong os?

Welcome to the forums.

You have an 8830, correct? Your profile shows your carrier as T-Mobile, the 8830 will not work with T-Mobile. Please correct your profile to avoid confusion on future posts.

Follow these steps to the letter and be patient.

This should fix you up. Do this from your Windows machine. You do not need DM to load the new OS. Just follow the directions as stated. Take your time and don't try to take shortcuts or skip any steps.

Error 507 after using jl_cmdr to wipe my AT&T 8700c Blackberry. I think I am in a bit of a jam. I don't know ho to install the OS (thinking it is pretty simple). Where do I get the latest OS for my BB. And, how do I install it so that I can be functional again?

It is so nice to see people with patience to answer theses questions. My berry was down for weeks some years ago. All kind of numbers as errors and at one time no communication between the pc and berry but all was well thanks to some people from BBF.
