Default The difference between 8700c and 8700g

Please Login to Remove!

Is the only difference between the 8700c and the 8700g:

1. Cosmetic
2. Network (tmobile g and cingular c)

The reason I ask is when I search the forum to learn about tweaks and hardware issues I want to know if a topic written for the 8700g is also compatible with the 8700c. (or vice versa)

Thanks.

Correct, there is no functional difference between the two models. Its possible for specific directions to be different between the two models, but this will be due to the different themes the carriers has configured by default.

I am not 100% sure if the default themes on the 8700c and 8700g are the same or not. But yes, they would be interchangable.

I've got the -c and -g; other than the cosmetics, nothing's different in my opinion.

I have had both. After being offered a 'g' at work I stuck with the 'c'. Prefer cingular to tmo and have become attached to "my" BlackBerry. Thinking of having another, slightly different looking BB felt funny. I held it and it didn't feel the same. However---this has been my experience. I suppose that is the difference between my BB and everyone elses. My BB is mine. :o) A true addict?

After just reading a thread here relating to screen protectors it looks like the screen size is different. Obviously viewable screen size should be the same but if you are buying a screen protector you need to be specific for the "g" or "c"

Network is really determined by the SIM card, not the device (these are GSM devices). The branding on the case and the startup/splash screens cannot be changed regardless of what OS or theme you load. Internally, they're the same.
