There's a lengthy known issue and fixed issue list on this thread. This is one of the known issues.

Am I the only one that always gets crappy speeds on new OS downloads? I downloaded the updated version of Desktop software in about 2 minutes, but the OS is going to take 17. =\

So when I downloaded the newest OS for my 8320...and now when I just got my 8900 and put the latest OS on it..I was not able to load the new OS by following the instructions..it it either wouldn't load through loader.exe or would result in error. When I tried loading through Desktop Manger - I had no problems.

Downloaded and installed it today. I'll post some feedback next weekend, after I test it for a while.

I just upgraded.

Well it took only about 12 minutes to upgrade including the backup/restore. So far I did not find any issues popping up.. will post tomorrow about the battery life..

Do a search for "8900 battery" and you'll find a lot of people saying the pouch or case might be causing battery drain.

Here are my findings with this firmware:
+Greatly increased battery life, I can play with my BB for quite a bit (hours) and only be down to 85-90%.
+GPS tracking SEEMS to "start" faster.
+Video/Audio sync slightly better.
-Would not sync with Missing Sync/PocketMac properly.. Contacts with CID pictures were not added to phone..
-All application settings were reset, including my profiles- with backup enabled.

Huge difference in battery life from .114 to this upgrade. Went from 15% battery left after one day w/ .114 to 85% now in a day w/ this upgrade.

Right! The only time I ever use Windows is when I'm at work and when I have to update my BB OS.
