I have a BB 8520 with a 2GB media card. I can only place 1GB of music files on this card (through Windows or through the Media manager). Any reason why this limit occurs?

Is it formatted as a 2GB or a 1GB? Is it a new card? Any hidden files?

Hi,

The card was purchased and inserted. It wasn't formatted. No hidden files. If I check the space available, it has 1gb free.

Put it in a PC and see how much the PC says it has.

Are you sure that it is a 2gb card? You could try inserting it into a computer and going to Computer, right clicking on the card and selecting Format. In size you should be able to select 2gb.

They ship with 2gig cards, mine did.

Try formatting it on the device itself and see what happens.

Options>Media Card, Menu Button and Format.

Also do you encounter this problem with any other cards?

If you have formatted the card as FAT, the maximum file size is 4MB. I have my 8GB card formatted as NTFS and I have 100MB files on it.
