I have a friend/co-worker who has the 8800 series from T-Mobile offered by our job. He initially only had our corporate email set up on BES but then asked me to add his Gmail account. I added that via BIS. He didn't want both accounts coming into one central inbox ("Messages"), so I hid the "Messages" central box, and made the icon for the BES and the icon for the BIS both available and visible.

However - here is the issue. When new mail comes in to either email account, even if you read the email, it still stays as an UNREAD email in the central "Messages" inbox and therefore keeps the UNREAD ICON on the main screen. Then when you DELETE the email from the separate accounts, they don't delete from the "Messages" central inbox. To boot, there is now a 5-15 minute delay from when the BES emails show up in the central inbox from when they show up in the separate inbox (shows up in the central inbox first, then the dedicated BES inbox 5-15 minutes later).

Anyone else experience this? Anyone know why or how to fix this without having to use the central inbox/color coding/etc?

Dedicated BES mailbox? I didn't think that was possible. It sounds to me like the work account is on there twice, once as BES and once in a BIS setup.

When I log in to BIS, though, the only email address listed is his Gmail account. When I "Show All" there is an icon for each mailbox. I only have two BIS emails on my BB so I didn't know it differed for BES. I figured an icon showed up for BES accounts, too.

The BES, or an account redirected via Desktop Manager, only show up in the Messages icon. Unfortunatly, so does every other email account.

Thanks for the info. But then what is the purpose of the different icons that look sort of like the browser globe that get created once you put more than one email account onto your device?
