Thumbs down This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry Handheld

Please Login to Remove!

The Desktop Redirector software is installed on a workstation and has been for 3 days, I have just switched the BB 7100 on after waiting for the GPRS signal to be activated.. When I switched the GPRS on the BB the users outlook inbox was sent an email containg the following text + an attachment.

___
This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry Handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.
___

Obviously it says not to move or delete these emails but the senior partner is not going to be to happy with all these emails coming into his inbox,

Is it OK for me to create a rule that sends these BB emails into a folder or do they HAVE to stay in the users inbox
?

It sound like the email your getting is the activation email. Are you using BES 4.0?

If you use the BlackBerry as a BWC and not as a BES Unit, then you will need to reinstall Desktop Manager as the internet edition.

Also in Settings > Service Book, you will need to remove the Desktop [CMIME] entry as this tells the BlacKberry to go through the Redirector,

You will need to create a BWC account on the internet by contacting your Service Provider. Then you will need to add your email account to be polled onto your Blackberry

Are you using the redirector on a machine that either moves email using rules or transfers to the local drive off of the exchange server? You get those alerts if the email moves sometimes. I see those alerts when my redirector (desktop pc sep from my laptop) doesn't have the email in the box very long before the email is transfered off of exchange down to the laptop.

Try a couple of things.. first verify with the redirector SW (double click the tower icon) that the numbers of forwards match (the numbers of email sent to device) with what is actually on the device. 2nd -- If another PC is in the loop on that account, shutdown the mail and try a test message and 3rd -- Shutoff the rules for a few minutes and send a test.

I get a lot of those emails and still get the message they were delivering. Usually the emails get moved to deleted items and delete themselves but if my laptop is on the ball, i get them there as well and I delete them off.

Yuck. Redirector. Better to add your BIS email address to active directory in Exchange....
