Default Newbie needs help with his 7290

Please Login to Remove!

I just purchased it loaded my battery up on it and this is what it does....
The red light goes on for about 5 seconds, dissapears then the "Sand" timer is on the middle of the screen then it goes away and the red light come back on then timer back on....
I dnt have the user manual, how exactly do i Turn it on? I thought it was the small button on the lower right hand corner when i do that the keys and screen lighten up the timers goes away but then the red light starts flickering but nothing turns on.....
any ideas?

The power button does both. It turns the power on AND activates the backlight. Press and hold it to turn the device on/off, and tap it lightly to turn the backlight on/off.

Did you charge the battery before you turned the phone on?

The flickering light is your LED coverage area/message notification light. It blinks red whenever you have a new email, text, im or pin message. It blinks green when you are in coverage.

I just got the phone.... All it does it blink the red light then stops and the "sand timer" whatever that is spins around on the screen.....?
the power button is the one on the bottom right ? Right?
How long do I have to charge the battery supposedly? does it have to be fully charged to turn on???

4 hours the first time, and 10 to 15 minutes daily to keep a full battery.

Oh ok but its a used Blackberry Tmobile as service I just dnt get why the red light come son for 4 seconds then dissapears and then a Spinning Timer comes onto the screen then dissapears and back to red light etc.....
When I press the on button all that it does it light up the screen and keyboard for 2 seconds then the red led lights up and screen goes back to timer...?
What is that spinning Timer doing?
Im charging it as we speak but those two things keep happening on its own..

The hourglass icon usually spins for a while while the device is starting but if it doesn't do anything after a few minutes (like go to the Home screen), it may be that the OS is corrupted and needs to be wiped and reloaded.

i dnt have any idea how to reload it or wipe it off since i didnt get nay software or usb cord of course never buy used :(

You will need to get a USB cord (you can get this at your carrier's store or online) and you can download the software here http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=1871

Ok well i got a usb cable plugged into into my PC and now it finally has a red solid LED is on but I havent turned it on......
Ok what exactly do i download? the desktop manager since i have tmboile?
is that it?

Yippeeee it turned ON with the cradle and connecting it to the pc but what do i do know exactly SORRY :(
I actually downloaded the software of tmobile but what do i do now???
Is it charging cause it keeps saying low battery and the battery thing isnt moving to the left ??

You installed the desktop manager SW yet? Drivers need to be installed before charging through the USB will occur.
