Default 8320 Owners: try OS .175 (CSL) for fixes

Please Login to Remove!

A number of people that have upgraded to the new .175 OS from CSL are reporting better UMA performance, but it's still a little early to tell. My wifi is definitely better than the T-Mobile .171 release as well as others.

Y'all who can't get the WPA/TKIP/PEAP working and the WRT54GX4 owners I'd be interested in knowing if this new OS has any bearing on your problems and maybe fixes something.

I second Rivvie's suggestion. .175 smoothed over wifi quite a bit. Was a good update.

Just so we keep the info together, if you upgrade be sure to check your certificates (Options -> Security -> Certificates) for the 2 'T-Mobile' named ones; if not present in the list go to http://mobile.blackberry.com/ from your device and install them from the provided link. These certificates are in some way integral to making T-Mobile UMA function correctly.

I did the upgrade to .175 yesterday. Wifi browsing seems much faster.

Switched from WEP to WPA-TKIP on WDS and so far so good.
Configuration is:

Two access points, one linksys, one buffalo. WDS on DD-WRT. DHCP enabled.

I've put up a call and forced the inter-ap transfer by killing the active AP.. working fine, no blips, clicks. nothing.

We'll see. It was rock solid on WEP.

edit: seems to toggle seamlessly between APs depending on which signal is stronger.... so far.
