HI BB users,

i am new to this forum and BB, i have the pearl, and the power keeps turning on and off (when not plugged in usb or charger) however, it works just fine when i'm plugged into usb or charger.
can someone please tell me how to fix this or give me confirmation if any of you have had the same problem? or if you know if this problem, anything would help either its software or hardware or anything,
i can seem to find anything on this. thanks!

Sounds like a battery problem or battery contact problem. You could try reloading the OS but I don't think that's going to help. Have you tried a different battery?

nope..i have not not tried a new battery..but i should..i will first need to get another battery...however, i don't think its the battery contact problem, i just tried to flash the firmware, no help.

sorry, i just realized i updated the firmware..i did not format it, i guess i'll try to format it..now i just gotta find the thread

Updating the OS does the same thing. It sounds like you have a defective device.

Is the device new?
Has it ever worked?
Did the problem maybe start after dropping it once?

Really sounds like a hardware problem.
