Default Help to prevent my 8830 from dialing without my notice.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I am new to this forum. I'd like to have your precious help on this issue:

I've used my BB8830 for about three weeks. The problem is sometimes when I just put my phone in the pocket it just picks up a number from the phone book and dials. It has already made about five phone calls without my notice. I don't want to annoy my friends away with these kind of "naughty" phone calls.

I did turn the "lock on holster" option on.

Thank you in advance.

The auto lock into holster means that you have to put it in the holster, i don't think it works when you put it in your pocket without the holster. You can lock it manually by pressing the "alt" and the "<-" button. Hope this helps!!

Thank you.

I don't think the "Auto lock on holster" works very well though. Because it just happened to me in about one hour ago. I put the phone into the holster. but looks like it didn't lock at all. A long distance call has been made to a friend's home. I think they are not home so the duration of the call is only 45 seconds.

Do we have any other options to prevent this kind of calls?

Appreciate your help!

agui--turn the BB around in your holster, facing YOU, facing the belt clip.
I am betting your place it in the holster facing outward.

Lock your phone before you put it in your pocket or holster. If you turn off the dial from home screen feature (phone application - options - general options - dial from home screen = no) you can simply press the K key and the keyboard will lock. Other wise you would have to maneuver to the Lock icon and lock the keyboard.
