Default Blackberry & ACT 6.0

Please Login to Remove!

I am looking at buying my first Blackberry (the 8830) from Sprint. I will primarily be using it to keep in contact with my clients and prospects when out in the field. I use Act 6.0 to keep my prospects info in order. I use a business specific program for current customers. What products are out there that can help me to transfer that info onto a Blackberry?

Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Act 6.0 will work, asd well as Outlook and Yahoo PIM. If yopu look at the Desktop Manager download it will list all available.

The ACT! 6.0 version of Handheld Contact is now only available from the download page at ACT! and ACT! add-ons from GL Computing as Sage US no-longer sell ACT! 6.0

In which way do you find it's better than Handheld Contact? We used CL for years before switching to HHC. We like the 76 fields, propper tracking of ACT! histories and activities, ability to schedule for other users, central administration of multiple devices, and especially emails and phone calls made from the device automatically added to ACT!'s history.

Also, I think HHC is the only wireless sync for Blackberry

HHC is no longer the only wireless sync. Companionlink has a wireless solution and syncs with the native blackberry address book. There are pros and cons for both software but CL seems like a better solution if you have a large number of contacts and HHC is good if you need a lot of custom fields on the blackberry.

I have 3500+ contacts. When I demoed HHC, it took for ever to sync. HHC is a great product, but for our purposes, CompanionLink did the trick. Also we didn't want the monthly charge. For people that have the luxury of syncing once a day, CompanionLink is the way to go. For a more dynamic setting with multiple users, HHC is the way.

Agreed, we use Companionlink Pro on all of our computers. It works with our Treos, my new 8830 and lots of phones and syncs ACT!6 through ACT! 10 without issue. It is much easier to configure than anything else out there and their FREE tech support is outstanding and not in India.

Default Syncing Multiple Databases

Companionlink doesn't allow for syncing multible databases with a blackberry. I use Outlook for a certain type of contact and Act for prospects. Will the HHC allow me to sync both of these databases to my bberry?
