I am thinking of buying a blackberry curve; however, i want to make sure i can enter information "during a phone call" prior to considering purchase.

For example, if a person i am on call with is giving me contact information, directions, etc, can i use the blackberry screen and keyboard to enter this information "while I am on the phone". Obviously, i would use the speaker phone when entering information so i can see the screen and keyboard.

Also, in the past, i have used an ipaq; and, therefore,have a lot of contact information and such that i would simply like to upload to the blackberry if possible; is there way to do this..

appreciate any input anyone can provide

Yes, you can do both of these easily.

you can do this with any of the devices currently for sale. you can use either switch application in the menu, or alt back/escape on trackball/trackwheel devices.

As far as transferring contacts from the IPaq to the BB, that isn't a problem. If you buy a phone at almost any Sprint store, they have a machine that can transfer phone books from any type of phone. But I am sure you could just back them up to outlook and then sync them to your BB.

I have an old(er) 7100i and if I click the back/escape button while in a call or DC, it asks me if I want to continue the call while going back to the main menu. So far, most apps that I have tried that with work.
