I need a solution. Is there a software solution which will send emails directly to my blackberry? I don't want to use the BIS or contract out a exchange service? Redirector would work great except my current address is a pop3.

Can you forward from the POP3 account directly to the BB?
BIS, of course, is the preferred solution for POP3.

I don't consider Redirector to be very reliable. Your PC has to be on and the email connected 24/7 for your mail to get sent. If the PC reboots for any reason and you aren't around, you have no email until you can reconnect it.

You could forward to the carrier supplied email address but that has a number f issues. First, you open yourself up to more SPAM than you want. Second, you don't won that address so it could change at anytime. Third, since you don't won it, you can't take it with you. And Last the only way to read the email to that address is on the BB. If there is a network outage or the BB is lost, you are out of luck.
