Currently my BB8830 saves the last 3 or 6 months of appointments in the calendar but I'd like to know if it's possible to extend it as I often keep details of particular jobs inside the notes section of the appointment and would like to be able to search and refer to these notes.

You can set it to 'Forever' under the calendar Options. Click on Calendar -> Options -> General -> Keep Appointments.

Just keep in mind the limited memory on the BB handheld. Might I suggest backing these entries up on your PC aswell.

Is synching with Outlook, will those old calendar items remain on Outlook even though they were automatically deleted on the BB?

Thanks guys, found it.

I do sync at least once a day and all my appointments are backed up into outlook (and the .pst files backed up weekly) but I wanted to also be able to search job info stored in the appointment notes while on the road, away from my computer.
