Default Email problem

Please Login to Remove!

I set up my email when I got my 8830 and it appeared I have been getting some emails but I noticed yesterday I did not get any emails all day on BB. Then I heard this morning there was a problem with BB's getting info yesterday so chalked it up to that. But then today I got one all day and when I got home that I got home I had a bunch of emails on my laptop. I do not have any filters set. I have tried sending service books and they are delivered to BB email & 2ndary. However, tried sending a email to 2ndary on laptop and it came to laptop but never to BB.

Got any ideas?? If I did not get service books or any emails at all, it would make more sense than getting some here and there.

Help....

What domain are the email accounts for? Gmail? Yahoo? Charter?

I had issues last night with Gmail. Sent service books a few times but they wouldn't ever get to the device. Finally, very late, I received them - along with about 50 emails.

Do you have the laptop on all the time downloading your mail?

My email is through Time Warner Road Runner. And the service books I sent this morning went right through and I got one email today @ lunch. However, when I got home I had about 15 and I am leaving my laptop on all the time and the emails do load periodically all day.

This is the problem. Your laptop is downloading the mail before BIS picks it up. Try turning off your laptop for 1 day.

Are you downloading the emails into Outlook (or some other program) or are you accessing them via a webmail site for TimeWarner?

I thought I read in some of the literature or online that you were supposed to leave PC on at all times so email was received on PC and then simultaneously on BB....No?

I believe you are referring to the BlackBerry Redirector. This for used with corporate email system.

Do I have to do something that I also get a copy on my PC since some of my emails have a link that will not come up on my BB and I will need to look at the link on the PC??

On the off chance that you installed Desktop Manager with the Redirector option, I would uninstall Desktop Manager, then reinstall and make sure you don't choose Redirector (and don't choose Enterprise Server - BES, either).

Your BIS account should do all the forwarding, and Redirector and BES don't work with BIS.

I was pretty sure I did not install the Redirector but I modified and reinstalled being sure not to install Redirector.

So what I wanted my email to do was deliver to PC email and send to my BB as well. If PC is off and email goes to BB, then will I get copy on PC or not?

If not, how do I do that because I know it can be done.

Sounds like your email client is deleting the messages from the mail server as it downloads them. change the mail account settings to leave copy on server.

Well I did a test and none of this worked. I set it to leave copy on server.

I had a weird issue along these lines. BIS stopped hitting my imap server at 23:27:58 EST last night (2/11). Not one single poll from the BIS server to my imap server. So I logged into my BIS site and just poked around (changed the setting on the filters for forwarding/not forwarding to the device, then changed it back), then low and behold BIS starts hitting my imap server again.

Did the same thing with my hotmail account and I started getting my hotmail emails again.

Figured it was some sort of after-effect from the outage yesterday.

Thanks to juwaack, jbairdjr & x14. Got my emails today without any problems. I appreciate your help so much because I would have never figured it out without all your input.

Is there any way to get ones with images to show the images without having to go to a webpage?

You need an HTML Email viewer like Empower or BBSmart.
