I have had a few friends send me a couple .WMV vids via to my BB address. First I found I couldn't open them or even save them. Not sure why I couldn't save, I don't have a MicroSD yet so that may be the problem there. However as I said I found I couldn't play them. After looking here I find that the BB will not play .WMV's unless they are converted into the correct format.

Looking here there seems to be two methods. Any suggestion on which is the easiest for a techno challenged old man?

The easiest would be to download them to your computer and then transfer them to the BB using the roxio software that came with the phone. It will give you an option to convert for optimum playback. You should get a media card as well.

the blackberry doesnt support anything but jpg gif tif bmp png and wave files as attachments. (in terms of media files)

it supports a video format too. i forget what one.

roxio media manager converts if for you

not for email attachments. it supports a whole slew of other media formats for adding to the device.
