Default Blackberry Screen

Please Login to Remove!

It is terrible that RIM should make phones that are unuseable out doors. Ever since the 7290, that has been the theme. Today I went oudoors to use an application and I could not because of the sun. I moved in several directions. I guess as long as we buy their phones they will continue. Unfortunately the 7290 does not have a speakerphone, GPS, loud ringer, or wifi. I guess they don't have much sun in Canada so it is not much of a problem. I just had to get it off my chest.

Not much sun in Canada -- what planet are you from, Krypton?

I agree!

If you turn off that automatic backlight though, you won't be able to see.. the screen is just too dark (I tried one day while I was walking out to the mailbox)
Other than that, I'm with sith, the only time I haven't been able to see is when I flashed the sun into my eyes out of stupidity =D

I found this to be an issue with the earlier models, but haven't had a problem with the Pearl or the Curve.

I believe his point is that the 7290 is considered ancient, and doesn't have the light sensing technology that today's newer devices have.

Someone mentioned light sensing technology, Just yesterday as I made my rant, you just could not turn the light up bright enough. The 7290 is a piece of cake. Whether you're a snob about using an older Berry, it does have advantages and If you don't have one to compare silence is your best friend.
What I am gleaning is those that have no problem outside are at a higher latitude. And for the gentleman in Canada, Yes the sun does shine brightly but not as much as the equator. Not trying to be rude, and maybe the gentleman in Canada took it that way but it is a fact the sun is brighter when it is above you.

You sure seem to have a chip on your shoulder. People came and answered your thread about an outdated BB, and you call them an a$$?

It is terrible that RIM should make phones that are unuseable out doors. They Dont the newer BBs have this fixed. Ever since the 7290, that has been the theme. Wrong all BBs work out doors these days upgrade your eqipment Today I went oudoors to use an application and I could not because of the sun. Buy a newer model and you wont have that issue. I moved in several directions. Should have moved back indoors I guess as long as we buy their phones they will continue. Yes they will continue to upgrade and dominate the market as they do now. Unfortunately the 7290 does not have a speakerphone, GPS, loud ringer, or wifi. I guess they don't have much sun in Canada so it is not much of a problem. I just had to get it off my chest.

Sounds like a candidate for an Otter Box.

My point is that it is older technology and does not take advantage of the improvements made in newer devices. I love the 7290 I still have one that I use from time to time. Love the keyboard and the thing is a TANK
