I have not found the control yet, so I will ask the forum for assistance. I use Verizon for tethering support on my data services using my BB 8830. Of course, the minute someone calls me, it breaks the connection and I loose my internet connection.

Is there a way to take/make calls while maintaining a data connection with the BB in modem mode? Or worse case, is there a way to setup and DND or forward calls to voice mail while the BB in is modem mode?

Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks.

the connection should not break if you recieve a call. it pauses for up to 30 minutes, i use tethering all the time and recieve calls (on my vzw 8130) and it doesnt break the connection as long as i keep it under 30 minutes.

Well, you may be right. The only reasons I think I have interruption in my data connection when a voice call comes in, is because my upload is interrupted by the voice call. Everytime I receive a call, I end up starting the upload all over again.

It may be the remote computer that is breaking the connection, not the blackberry - perhaps timing out because of no response from the modem.

Just a thought.
