How do I Reinstall the Blackberry OS?
Please Login to Remove!
So I got a Blackberry 8700c last week. It is built for Cingular, so it had 4.1 for Cingular on it, and I unlocked it for T-Mobile. In my haste to make the thing look cool, I downloaded a theme that was meant for 4.2. Upon the installation of the theme, the Blackberry shut down and it is stuck in a perpetual loop of an hourglass to a black screen with a black LED, back to the hourglass.
This problem was a known one with the theme, it was meant specifically for 4.2, and I did not read that. To correct the problem, it was mentioned that I would have to use "Command-JLoader". And I have no clue what it means.
I have no clue what programs I need to do this, or even what files. I have used Search on a few forums, and have no clue. I have downloaded a few things, but I am clueless.
Here is what I need to do in a nutshell:
*Get the proper programs and download files (links would be much appreciated!)
*Make my phone turn on, and get it to the latest OS (4.2)
Thanks to all!

So I have hit a few snags trying to do this.
The Blackberry is still stuck in the hour glass / black screen with red LED loop.
When I plug it into Jl_Cmder, and try to do the full wipe, it refuses to connect. It gets error time after time. I attribute this to the Blackberry not wanting to stay connected, as it says it is connecting when the hourglass is up, but once the screen goes black, it gets the error.
So, I went to the page on "what to do when it doesn't load" that gave me the Dos commands. This didn't help either, and it reads that the Blackberry is plugged in when the screen is lit, and disconnected when it is dark.
Any advice?

Make sure you have Desktop Manager completed shut down on your desktop. Reboot the PC if you are unsure.
Then try either JL_Cmder or the loader -nojvm command

The computer I put Jl_Cmder on didn't even have a desktop manager installed on it when I tried. I will be trying another computer later tonight.
On another note, when I do get it to work, should I do a "complete wipe" [option 4] or a "factory reset" [option 5]
Once that is done...
The OS and the Desktop manager are both ".exe" files. Do I extract both to the system? And than, when I load the manager when the wipe is complete, and go to Apploader, it will automatically try and install the OS if everything is on the system? Currently it asks for a file, and is looking for a ".axl" file [sic].
Thanks!

so I tried it on a new computer, and here is the error I got when trying to do a factory reset:
"debug:COM error during open: <0x8000404>
Error: Unable to open port"
so I get the computer *ding* every time the hourglass pops up, but every time it turns off the screen goes black and the computer dings again. JL Cmder tries to open the port right to the moment the screen goes black, that's when the error hits.
I tried to do it with the battery out, and the computer recognized it as connected, but JlCmder wouldn't connect, and gave the same error.
