If I want to keep everything on vibrate, is there any way to tell the difference between incoming e-mails and phone calls (other than waiting to see if the buzzing continues longer)? I don't want to have to always take out the BB to look at it if it's only an e-mail.
I just edited my Vibrate profile to stop messages from vibrating. Now, only calls vibrate, since when I have my phone on vibrate, I generally am in an area where only calls would be important enough to interpupt me. Otherwise, no, I don't think you can have a different vibrate for calls and messages.
A coworker has his set for the LED to blink after the message vibration. Yep, he let's the call or message continue to vibrate then watches to see if the led begins to blink or not??? There is a program somewhere that will change the color of the led but i'm not sure if it is by type of alert.
I have mine set to ring for the phone (escalating). When I go into meetings I switch it to vibrate, but sometimes I forget to put it back after the meeting.
Then of course there are times before lunch when I am really hungry and my stomach growls and I think I got an e-mail, a calendar message and a phone call all at the same time. (did I say that out loud?)
I've set mine up to just vibrate once for email, twice for sms and 3 times for phone calls. Seems to work pretty good if I feel it vibrating at all.

Matt,
How did you set your phone up to do this? I went into my Profiles and changed the number of beeps under Vibrate to 1 on Messages, but it still vibrates twice. Thanks.
