Default Blinking green light on 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I have a co worker who has an 8830 from verizon
on the 8830 there is a blinking green light that will not go away.

has this happened to any one else?

any idea what might be causing this?

It's the coverage indicator. To turn it off Menu>options>Screen/Keyboard>LED Coverage indicator = OFF.

it says LED coverage indicator is off

i do not know if this makes a difference or not but the green light is NOT blinking it is just on.

it only goes off when the screen turns off

as long as the screen is on the green light is on.

any one know why?

Is it plugged into a charger?

Have your friend remove the battery while the device is turned on. Wait about a minute and reinsert the battery.

Let us know if this fixes it.

not plugged in
we did remove the battery before posting

What is the battery level at? Click on Options icon -> Status

What 3rd party applications are installed on the device? Perhaps it's a 3rd party app that's making the LED blink.
