Default Missing Media Files

Please Login to Remove!

I store my photos and songs on my 8320 media card. I've had no problems with it until this past week. When I view the photo files on Roxio or Explorer the photos and photo folders are there. When I open media on the device, one photo folder and select photos are missing. There is no problem with the music. Anyone have any ideas where the folder/files went? Is the program corrupt?

Did you try a battery pull? Something went weird with mine -- when I got up this morning it couldn't see any of the files on the media card, but after a battery pull, it was back to normal.

Last week I had the same issue, about half my music had disappeared, as well as my "podcast" directory. Battery pull took care of the issue.

Whenever I add new songs to my sd card, I always pull my battery to make sure my media player refreshes correctly. Sometimes the new songs doesn't show up unless I do this.

Did you check Options > Media Card? Is Media Card Support set to On?

Media card support is on. Its strange. All music is there. Its just missing some photos and one photo folder. Its only on the blackberry. They show everywhere else (Roxio, etc.)

Larry, if you go to the Media icon, > Menu > Explore, can you navigate to that folder (rather than going to pictures)?

That's what so strange. None of it is there either. Its as though the blackberry can't read it while desktop can. I'm thinking I might go the new OS route I saw today for 8320 and see if that upgrade fixes anything.

By chance, can you rename that folder from your PC? Or add it under another name to the BB. Perhaps there is somekind of hidden character in the foldername that is hiding the folder from the BB? i dunno.

What's strange is that its one folder and then just some individual photos. I've gone through on both Roxio and the folders themselves in Explorer to look for some common pattern (file extensions, etc.) but find none. I'm thinking upgraded OS might help as this is a replacement 8320 that RIM sent when they were stumped on an email send issue I had that went beyond a common problem they had recently.

It could be the OS, I don't think so. Why not just try renaming the folder, putting it back on the BB, and deleting the "invisible" one.

Thank you, JS, for a simple solution. Copied everything to a PC folder, wiped the photos from the Blackberry and copied back in using Roxio. Don't know what happened the first time but it worked and that's what matters.

Yep, still odd, but nice to know you have what you need now.

Wink Missing ICON on Black Berry

The icon is either hidden or has been accidentally placed in to a folder.

To check and see if it is hidden, on the screen with the icons press the menu key and then select Show All. See if the icon in question is greyed out.
