I'm going to Italy next week and remember bad internet connections in the hotel. Can I use my 8830 as a wireless broadband modem in Europe if I get the additional service added to my account?

I think you can but need the SIM card to do so.

I was able to tether with a Sprint 8830 where the services had been added. I suspect that you will have to explicitly ask and pay for the tethering option -- it was extra $$ on Sprint.

I'm also heading to Europe this week and am wondering if anyone has been able to do tethering under the Global Unlimited plan. This would be very useful...even tho GPRS is slooww.

I do have the "domestic" tethering option (BBACONNECT for $15/month) on my account and use it frequently.
