Default Why does my music stop playing when using a headset

Please Login to Remove!

I ride a motorcyle to work. When using the media player to listen to music on the blackberry Curve 8330 and a wired headset the music will stop playing. If I hold my hand over the microphone on the headset it will start playing.
After going through the forums it seemed to be the VAD. So i followed the steps and deleted it from the phone but it still is happening? any idea why? It also happened on the pearl before I got the curve

how about getting a wired headset without a mic?

Sorry I don't have a better resolution for you.

Is it a full duplex headset? i.e. Can you speak AND listen at the same time? It may be cutting out the ear piece when the microphone picks up noise.
