Default Water Damage!

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so on sunday I was at a nightclub and it was a foam party and i got my curve wet because it was in my pocket..I got in the car from the club i saw my phone screen was black but the keyboard lights were still on.i took the battery out and once a day i have been checking to see if it comes back functional since bb's are tough..today i turn it on and the screens back to normal but the buttons nor the trackball are reacting..should i wait a few more days or just pay the $50 fee to send a new one out

I'd leave it out and throw it in a bag of uncooked rice for 24 hrs, then try again. Or leave it someplace warm like the dash of your car.

I'm not Troy

I also would probably pay the $50, but definately don't try to turn it on for another 24 hrs. I'm not particularly patient

LOL..... Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Uncooked rice absorbs moisture wherever it can that's the reason for the uncooked rice. There's no way you could possibly know that all the moisture is gone since it gets into places you can not see and that's where the problems occur.

My wife dumped her HTC shadow in the toilet and i rigged up a hanger to hold the phone in front of a portable fan. Left it there for 24 hrs , flipping it a couple times and its perfect so far. Its been two weeks now. Of course i pulled the battery right away and didn't try turning it on but i like this method more than the rice. Good Luck

Wirelessly posted (8310 AT&T)

I like the Rice Crispies approach...that way you can hear the 'Snap, Crackle, Pop!' Of avoiding an insurance claim.

Time for a warranty claim or a Viking type funeral. Berries do not respond well when their internal parts are forced to swim. Rice is a quick save option but I surmise THIS one is ready to be sent back and exchanged.

i hope you have a warranty because if the water mark has turned red they will make you pay for a new one. for some ungodly reason, i turned my phone on after it went for a swim in my water glass, and i did this several times as i was not very patient, the watermark on the phone and battery turned red BUT i found some patience set it on top of a radiator wrapped in a cloth and now i have not had a single problem since. i just hope it lasts me my two year contract until i get a new one!

GOOD LUCK!
