Default Getting TomTom 910 to work with Curve.

Please Login to Remove!

Finally you can now pair your TT 910 with the BB curve. For quite some time this seemed to be an impossible feat no matter what settings were used this was impossible to do. Now with the release of 4.5.0.52 it connects immediately and know your able to establish a data connection. What I did in setup, when prompted for phone model I chose other, then choose USA, next choose tmobile 1, next choose manual for data setup. Here you must input, wap.voicestream.com. Name and password leave blank. Amazingly it will get passed the dreaded 65% mark and connect your data service. Traffic, weather updates now available. Really sweet option to have.

Wow, just got a Curve searched for a solution to this problem on Friday and found nothing, and today I search and there's a solution! Thanks!

I did buy a "cheapo" Sony Ericsson phone just to use in the car because I thought there was no solution... I suppose I can sell that on now!

Um... how do I upgrade to 4.5.0.2? My Blackberry Desktop Manager thinks I'm up-to-date... I'm on 4.2.2.181

Hi,

Just to confirm it all works perfectly! Upgraded the Blackberry OS thanks to the helpful FAQs and made a data connection to the TomTom without problems!

I thought I'd have to set the configuration manually, but it wasn't necessary. I just selected Blackberry 8100 (I have the 8310 but the 8100 is the only Blackberry on the TomTom list) and told it my location and service provider, and I was communicating in seconds! Accessed my TomTom traffic updates, TomTom services, and so on.

I don't know if it now supports copying contacts to the TomTom - but I don't want to do that at present as I don't need a whole slew of duplicated contacts on the TomTom. The other thing which I have confirmed is not suported is reading-writing SMS messages via TomTom, but that's not a big deal for me.

It was really the lack of wireless data (traffic updates) that was painful for me, and that's now working fine.

Thanks again to black betty and Mikeypants!

Cheers
Steve

I have the 8310 with 4.5OS and a tomtom 930. Does anyone know what I need to do to get them to talk for data? I tried 8100 like sturczyn and it doesn't recognize.

Thanks again for this great site!

Does anyone know if I would have the same success with this OS communicating with an Ipaq 4150 with TomTom 6?
