It would be great if someone would have a program that would allow us to snyc the berry with act 2006, and not have to use the handheld contact, that is great but for someone who uses a laptop and is not in the office, and you cant plug and sync its really bad.

also for those that use act 2005, i have heard the act 2006 is much faster, and better.

I believe that the latest version of ACT is 2005, and Companion Link works just fine to sync to the Blackberry. I decided to stay with ACT 6.0 because I don't need all of the new stuff added to ACT 2005.

2006 comes out in 27 days (not that i am counting) but 2005 is really bad.
and i think 6.0 you can just plug and play with the berry

2005 will sync, but you have to jump through hoops with companionlink add in and all of that jazz. We're on list for 2006, waiting to see. 2005 sucks...big ones.

I am also looking for a solution. Companionlink has now added support for ACT! 2006 and the setup doesn't look too cumbersome. Companionlink Express is $49.95. Here is the link http://www.companionlink.com/clx4actblackberry.htm

Companion Link works very well. All you have to do is select Blackberry/RIM from the setup. It also has a Direct option which installs a small app on the BB so you do not need the BB Desktop application (1 less thing on my desktop). It syncs very quickly however doesn't have an option to save the device password so you have to enter it whenever you sync.

I agree we have had nothing but problems with 2005 act,
can anyone tell me is there any software out there that syncs 2005 act db with the blackberries 7290?

Companion Link now says that it can handle ACT 2005 and 2006.
