Default 8330 Standby Bug?

Please Login to Remove!

I almost always put my phone in standby mode (hold mute key) before putting it in my pocket and once a week, I will pull the phone out and notice the red light blinking and press the mute key and it won't come out of standby.

I did notice that before upgrading to 4.5.0.56, I used to be able to mash the Send/BB/Esc/End keys a few times and then Mute would wake the phone up, but after upgrading to 4.5.0.56, I have to pull the battery to wake it up.

I've personally had the same issue on two different 8330s with 4.3.0.127. I have the issue described above on 4.5.0.56. I've verified with a 8330-bearing (4.3.0.127) coworker.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a resolution to it?

I have an 8330 AND OS 4.5...

When I had os 4.3, I didn't have to bash any keys before pressing mute in order to wake up my phone.

Even with OS 4.5 I don't have any of the issues you describe. My phone wakes up instantly after pressing mute.

This has happened to me on 2 different Curves and has happened to a co-worker who has a Curve, so I don't think it's a defective phone.

It seems to happens after a Bluetooth call while in stand by. I've disabled Bluetooth since my first post and it has not had any problems coming out of stand by.

I can't be the only one affected by this, on two different phones and having a co-worker who has the same issue.

Anyone interested in testing my theory?

1) Put your Curve in stand by
2) Place or answer a call using only Bluetooth and end the call
3) Try to wake your phone from stand by
