You need to install Desktop Manager. That's where the drivers are located.

Do other devices work in the same USB port? The BB USB port may have busted. I've seen a few BB's on this forum that have had issues with there USB connection.

Have you pulled the battery out for about 20 seconds? Also, do you know anyone else with a BB that you can have them plug theirs in to your PC? Other than that, I'm lost.

I had this same problem- came out of nowhere (except for an upgrade in OS a month before problem started). Mine would not recognize car charger, wall charger or USB. I pulled the battery a few times and it eventually fixed itself??? I still get a problem sometimes with the Desktop Manager recognizing the bb via usb- I just pull the USB and try again.

I searched the forums for an answer and never found one. You are the only other user I know of that had my same problem.

Try a battery pull a few times. Or maybe a different battery as that gave mine a little jumpstart.

I would try uninstalling the desktop manager software and reinstalling it.

If the DM reinstall doesn't work it sounds like the OS on the Curve is corrupt. Use JL_Cmder (search threads) to wipe the device and reinstall the OS using the DM.

How would the OS being corrupt affect the charging? If it charges when plugged into the wall, then it should charge plugged into the USB, regardless of OS status.

Not if it's charging from the wall. It should still get a charge from the USB port on the PC.

May be corrupted driver or USB port on the computer itself.
