Default Bold, Sim Access Profile, bluetooth and Audi A6

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We are trying to make the latest Bold of our CEO working with his Audi A6 (with internal MMI system, 8W car phone, etc).

It's working for calling, the car can use the phone SIM thru Sim Access Profile, (that was not working before, with the 8120). Unfortunately, the car doesn't see the PhoneBook. We can see the SIM phoneBook, not the BB phoneBook...

Any help ?

Thanks in advance, J. Vernet

Should we assume you have configured the device to transfer all contacts? This option is set in the Bluetooth Options area and is titled Contacts Transfer. Might be a dumb question to ask but start with the basics...

Yes, this option is set to "All Contacts". From what I read, the Audi should be able to read from the BB booth the SIM Contact (it does) and BB PhoneBook (wich is synced thru a BES Server), but in this case, the car doesn't see anything...

Hi,

I have an Audi A6 with MMI & I'm hesitating to purchase a BB Bold.
Therefore I am interested whether you found a way to fix the problem.

Is it possible to access the BB phonebook via the car system?
Is it possible to access the Sim phonebook via the car system?

Thanks in advance.

I am using a Sony Ericsson HCB-700 and that does not pull the contacts from the phonebook either.
I could be wrong (I normally am) but I was told that only Sony Ericsson phones allow the use of the phone book on car kits.

Not sure if anyone know this, but my co-workers car has rSAP bluetooth built-in. When he got his BB Bold he was able it to pair (in SAP mode) but nothing is downloaded to the car address book. It is of limited utility. Is there any work around for this?

Thanks.
