Default Ditched my 8820 series for a Curve

Please Login to Remove!

I traded in my new 8820 series for a Curve after less than 24 hrs. I really wanted the wi-fi, but darned near dropped the 8820 three times and did several times into my lap. I decided the extra grip on the sides of the Curve were worth giving up the wi-fi.

I also found the 8820 a pain to type on and kept hitting two or more keys at the same time. The keyboard much more closely resembles my old 8700. My only complaint thus far is the keyboard is quite flexible. I thought getting used to the trackball might be challenging. I don't miss my trackwheel at all.

I did notice my LED doesn't light/blink when charging and the magnet doesn't turn the screen off.

Wow that was quick. Magnet doesn't turn screen off on the 8200 or Curve? If it's the 8200, closing the screen is the same thing isn't it?

No. Sorry for the confusion, I mistyped last night. I had an 8820 that had worked just fine. I just kept dropping it because of the slick sides.

My Curve appears to be malfing. the screen won't shut off via the magnet, the LED doesn' flash red when charging or green when on like my 8700c did. This morning I couldn't get it to turn on via the power button on the top.

I know there are different features on each model, but I thought the magnet, LED, and power button were pretty standard across the board.

Are you saying that the magnet in the case that came with your curve isn't working, or is it a different pouch/case? Not all the cases have the magnets in the same spots.

I'm assuming you want your LED to flash green for coverage. Go to Options/Screen-Keyboard and set LED Coverage Indicator to ON.

Thanks for the reply. At least my LED is now working. I feel like a noob, but I read the manual and didn't see a thing about the LED.

As for the magnet, I even took one from my lab that normally would work in my 8700c and tried it all over my Curve. Nojoy.

Thanks again for the help.

I think the OP corrected the first post.
