probably most admins who are active on here have installed SP2. depending on your mail environment, you could probably search for that term (lotus, exchange, groupwise) and SP2 and find more topics on the subject - there's been a few.

We have it installed in our test environment and have had great success. We will most likely plan to upgrade our production environment next week. NO MORE APB HERE!!!!

We updated from 4.0.1hf3 to 4.0.2. It seems to have remedied a few small problems we were seeing.

The only problem we had was when the update for some reason couldn't shut down one service...it put up the Retry/Cancel dialog, and when we hit Cancel it went into roll-back mode and removed ALL of the BES executables from our server. A quick reinstall of 4.0 and then the SP2 got us back on our feet, but it was a bit of a shock for a minute or two ;)

For Domino SP2 is a must.. The APB problem was just too annoying.

We did the switch last week for SP2 with Groupwise. No problem except a very long time before server started to send email again. We had to flush pending and some pending OTFM request in the SQL database (a problem that SP2 now fixe...).

What's this APB issue? We are running SP1 for Lotus for a few months now and we have no issues.

I am NOT recommending BESX 4.0sp2 at the moment. Way to many problems, especially for SQL 2000 installs.

Users dissapearing, it policies corrupting, unable to add more users (yes there is a fix from RIM, but its unacceptable in a major service pack). Services all being set to manual. Instabilities in Handheld Configurator. Previous issues that are *still* to be fixed from sp1. I could go on.

Interesting.....we have seen none of these issues in our test environment but then again it we have a fairly small test group. Hope this doesn't become too big of an issue as we are looking to upgrade our production BES in a few weeks. Anyone else seeing these or other issues please post and give us some insight. Thanks.

i had an issue the other day where i opened Handheld Configuration Tool and the damn thing threw up a C++ error and then sent a restart command via NTAUTH to my box to reboot... very odd. after the second time, i contacted RIM - of course, i could not duplicate the issue at that point. thats the first issue i've had, so far.

I've had a problem where a lot of my users show up as "Initializing". Those users seem to have full functionality with their devices, but there statistics don't update in the Handheld Manager. It's not a major deal until I try to determine if a specific user has pending messages. I've tried all of the usual fixes (stop and start the BES, reboot the server, recreate the profiles DB, etc.) without any success.

I just finished my first BES install, 4.0 SP2 on a 2003 SP1 box/EXCH2003 environment.

So far, no issues

jwcanada, are you testing with a remote sql2k install? Thats the only way we've replicated the clients problems so far.

We just upgraded from SP1 HF3 to 4.02 over the weekend, have seen no issues so far but am crossing my fingers. We are running with a remote SQL server.

SP2 hosed down one of my test/development servers here last week when I applied it. The upgrade failed when it couldn't find a file then somehow managed to UNinstall the server software from the box.

Fortunately there weren't that many users on the box and T-support was able to help me get things back up and running. Based on what I've read here it looks like my problem was an isolated incident, but it always makes sense to backup everything you can prior to upgrading.
