hi,

I'm a BES Admin and I'm looking to see what ways people out there are deloying / installing this new OS on handsets..

We currently have 8700's 8800's, 8820's, 8100's,8120's

I have 140 BB to update and face a uphill battle... are they are shortcuts which work?

140 .. hah I can do that in a couple weeks using the old DM method. Try having to put a plan together for thousands

Once the US OS 4.5 updates are out (likely Noc - Jan) I will index and utilize Web Desktop Manager in staggered stages. I'm sure some of our more saavy BB users will go to the Blackberry update site also.

Yes my 140 abusers looks small to your 1000's

My problem is that I cant have them install it themselfs.

I dont trust them enough to do it without losing something or killing it completely.. in which case it will come back to me to fix and try to undo whatever they have done to it.

If the users are all in your location the easiest would be to just schedule times for them to drop off the device .. could be a good time to get some older models updated too if you have the budget / hardware.

No matter which way you do it none of the is aesy. Web desktop manager might be good way to go along with instructions how to do it. Those killed in action you can do them yourself. The whole process takes anywhere between 30-45 minutes so doing them all by yourself is gonna be tough unless you are really bored at work.
