Default 2nd morning in a row, no email service...

Please Login to Remove!

Good morning folks,

I got my new 8330 (with Verizon service) about a month ago, and it's great. Except, this....every night I power off my device. But for the last two mornings, when I power on the device in the morning, there is no email. Nothing happens until I go online and resend my Service Books. Once I do that, all the emails from the night start coming in. So obviously, the email is backing up and stuck some where.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Might want to try reprovisioning the device. For Verizon I believe you would dial *228 and press the Send button (then option 1).

You might consider not turning it off at night. There is no real reason to do so, just place it on the quiet profile.

I'm a BB newbie so I'm basically just learing this. I too had the same problem with my 8330 Curve. What is the code for Sprint and what does this code do?
Thanks

There isn't a code for Sprint, but you can try click on Options -> Mobile Network -> Menu key -> Start Provisioning.

It basically connects your device to the Sprint network. I'm sure there is a better explanation, but that's it in a nutshell.

Generally you shouldn't have to do this after the device is provisioned and working the first time, but I've done it out of impatience or irritation if my device seems to be dropping connections (and my building is wired for Sprint signal).

Turning it off at night isn't causing the problem. I turn mine off every night and I have no problems receiving e-mail when I turn it back on.

The reason I turn it off at night is because I believe (right or wrong) that I get a fuller charge on the battery.

i am also on verizon and the last 2 nights i have not received any new email when i look at my curve in the morning. i have to do a battery pull and still doesn't come in. didn't come in until at least 30 minutes later. there has to be something going on with the network.

Well, I don't think its a problem with their network, otherwise it would be a network-wide problem. I would 100% not shut it off tonight just to see what happens in the morning.
