Default Videos on the Storm

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using this site for ages now, and this is the first post I have had to make, I think it is testament to how good the site is, any previous problems I have had have been sorted out just using the search, anyway, here is my problem.
I got my shiny new Storm at the weekend, and I’d like to put some movies etc on it. But I can’t find out what format it should be and what application will convert them, can any one help… Please !

omg haha, i need to know this too. so far ive managed to convert 1 video file. and i had to use the roxio program it came with to do so. but other videos that i tried to convert with roxio didnt work. which is annoying yet wierd too.

i have managed to find out what kind of formating you need for the video file, but when i use standalone converters, and then transfer them, it still doesnt work.

my guess is that you need
-480x360 resolution at 4:3
-mpeg-4 decoders
-27.96fps (i think, can't remember off the top of my head)

ive tried the same setup, at various quality settings, and bit rates etc, but none of them work =/ and i have read on the blackberry website and in other various places, that this has always been an issue ? apprently verizon needs a specific conversion 'varible' in the video files, before it will work on the blackberry phone, and can only be done with the roxio tool provided. however all the information i have found is based on older models of BB, since the storm is still new.

i'm just hoping after another week or two someone will be able to figure it out.
*fingers crossed*

Thanks for the replies, I have been placing unadulterated AVI files on my storm, and it plays them, but only just, it also seems to crash a lot. Does anyone know of an application I can use, that will convert them to the correct format, and hopefully shrink the file size too !

Hopefully it will play some of the digital copies that came with my blu rays. There are very few devices with a screen big enough for it to be worth watching movies on. This is one of them.
