Default 8330 "shut off" needs battery pull

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I've got an 8330 that is only a few months old from my employer. It seems if I have it in my back pocket even if it's locked it will randomly black out and not turn back on unless I do a battery pull. When I put the battery back in it does the FULL reboot (that takes forever and then verifies security software).

Any thoughts? Is it defective?

Possibly. You may want to check the auto off/on settings.

Menu>Options>Settings>Auto On/Off = DISABLED

All are disabled.

It tends to happen if I've been sitting and the phone is in my back pocket (I weigh less than 200lbs)

Do you happen to have a media card in the device?

It does have a media card (8gb) I have not tried to reload the OS, no error messages.

I'll try an OS reload later.

Does the same thing happen if you remove the media card?

I had the same problem with my 8320, turned out the battery had gone bad. My device was less than a year old also.
