Default Setting up email from college server (.edu)

Is it going to pose a problem to set up email from a college email address (the .edu type which I assume is from the college server)?

I want to buy my son a Bold but most of his email is through his college ID.

Hello Laurah!
I've set up my @csupomona.edu mail just like any email account. My schools server is MS Exchange, a simple visit to the Universities/schools IT website should give you a step by step set up for PDA's or mobile phones. It should not give you/your son a problem at all. It hasn't for me Good luck.

Just ask the school IT department if they allow POP/IMAP access. If so, your son should have no problems.

I have my .edu email address forwarded to my curve using BIS. As long as they support POP or IMAP, you wont have any problems.

Assuming the school does not block access, all you would need is the same link that you would use to access the e-mail from an outside side. Preferably, a site for Outlook Web Access.

Or OWA, as akosnitzky mentioned.

True, but I've found OWA to be a user-unfriendly tool, since it's browser based and isn't nearly as easy to work with on a bb as is direct pop/imap integration. On the other hand, it gives you the ability to manage many options that you simply can't do through pop/imap.

In case we are misunderstanding each other, the link for OWA integrates very well with the push mail system.
Without it, I cant access the corp mail on ny BIS acct.
