Default 8330 is soooo slow

Please Login to Remove!

On my Sprint 8330, I upgraded to OS 4.5. After a few days, I decided I couldn't have the speakerphone blast each time I picked up a call and went back to the official 4.3 from Sprint. Before I went to 4.5, my BB was very quick.

Now my phone is dragging ass. Takes forever to open anything (address book, recent calls, email, etc etc), and takes equally as long to shut them down.

40007748 bytes File Free
83623936 bytes File Total

All I have installed (besides the crap that comes on the phone) is Berry-a-Code, Yahoo Messenger, and Gmail.

I am wondering if the upgrade then downgrade bogged the phone down. I have done a battery pull to see if that would help and it doesnt.

Any ideas?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Dump all your third party programs and see what happens as you add them back one-by-one. In addition, make sure you are closing out your other programs and not just esacaping them.

I had these apps installed before I did the upgrade/downgrade, so I don't think it is them causing the problem.

As for closing programs, even after doing a battery pull to reset the phone, it still runs very slow. For example, it takes about 2-3 minutes to get the media player to just play a song.

People should note, that Sprint provides allot of 3rd party apps. Such as Facebook,AIM,YIM,Pocket Express, Plus many others... To many damn apps if you ask me.

Sprint hasn't release the official 4.5 for its devices yet. That could be the issue as well.

They are all just web browser shortcuts that take you to the real app download page, so they are actually taking up very little memory. I just create a new desktop folder, move all these icons into it, then hide the folder.

To original poster : Did you try to resend service books?

Nope, should not have anything to do with it, all versions are the same.
