Default Blackberry firewall gets enabled without BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,

I recently bought a used blackberry (T-Mobile US 8320). I went to my carrier and enabled the blackberry plan. I noticed that the firewall in the blackberry is blocked. So, I upgraded to OS 4.5 from t-mobile website and then used JL_CMDER and reset the blackberry to factory defaults. The firewall became disabled. After a day, it became enabled and locked to enabled! So I reset the blackberry again and same thing happens. My blackberry is not connected to any BES server and its only connected to my carriers BIS.

Assistance would be highly appreciated.

Welcome to BB Forums!

It likely still has an IT Policy on it.

Look in BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ for a section on how to Remove an IT Policy.

But, when I reset it to factory settings, it removes the IT Policy and I am able to do almost anything. After 1 day it looks like I am getting a policy, but I can't figure out from where!!??

My mistake - I missed the RESETTOFACTORY part of the discussion.

Are you connecting the BB to a PC on a corporate network? Very odd!

No, I am connecting it to my own personal Laptop and when I have setup the desktop software, I made sure that I installed BIS version.

The odd thing is that it gets the policy (I am not sure if it is) even without connecting it to the desktop software.

It happened same with me, seems some software make it enabled, I loaded with Aerize Optimizer, Aerize Email Alert, AutoStandby, Cerberus Call Filter, and Profiler.

My guess is between aerize Email alert, cerberus call filter and auto standby that make it call policy enabled on firewall setting...

What is your softwares ?
