Default Was Rogers 6gb plan for $30 allowed for Blackberries?

Hi,

When Rogers had that 6gb promotion for $30/month data plan, was it compatible with blackberry devices or only for the iphone?

I have the 6GB/$30 plan for my 9000. However, that promo is no longer available, and for those that are on the plan, any change that you make risks losing that promo. e.g. I had another phone on that plan also but when I switched phones on the plan from a WM device to a 8800, I lost the plan and had to go with 1GB/$30. So, I am not touching my 9000's plan for risk of losing that too.

That said, I have never exceeded 100 MB/mo on either phone...

I have the same 6GB/$30 plan on my 9000. Don't think I'll ever come anywhere near using that much but I'm sure it would be useful if I ever needed to tether.

There were two distinct $30/6GB data plans. One for the 3G iPhone and one for 3G Blackberries (anyone on 2G could switch over too). I know this as a fact because I was mistakenly put on the iPhone plan and then had to be switched over. I have since switched phones (from Bold to 8900 Curve) and have not problems. I just make sure that they don't touch my data plan

Hope this helps.

Now that Slingplayer Mobile is available for the Bold, 6 Gb will not be enough, yesterday alone I used up 1.25Gb watching Junior Canada Team destroy Junior Sweden Team. That was just in 2.5 hours

You are not the first person that has been shafted by Rogers.

Remember the "Unlimited Data Plan" with hidden limits and big overage charges?

A friend of mine was told he could switch his iPhone plan to the Bold without penalty as long as he paid full price for the Bold. He did and once they had him hooked they told him his cheap plan had been canceled and replaced with the full priced plan BlackBerry plan!

Another friend upgraded his Ericsson phone but it cost him a lot more than he was promised. Sometimes you can fight these issues, but you shouldn't have to be always watching your butt when dealing with a company.

I have dealt with all three Canadian carriers and I have complaints about Telus and Bell; but I never felt they were out to screw me like I felt with Rogers. When you go into a Rogers store . . . take your lawyer with you!
