Default Mac Missing Sync Beta finally "really" syncs iTunes playlist!

Please Login to Remove!

One of my chief complaints in using my Bold was that for Mac there wasn't a program available that would sync iTunes playlists and keep them together as a playlist on the phone. Pocket Mac, and the superior Missing sync program would move the playlist songs over, but the list would be lost. Blackberry released their Mac Media sync a couple of weeks ago, but after you used it- it disabled the syncing of calender, contacts, note, tasks! That was worthless.
I got an email from missing sync about a new 2.0 beta version. It works!! It keeps the playlist together on the phone, and also adds bluetooth syncing. The link is here:

So what's the consensus. Has anyone else tried it and working OK?

I got it up and running on my MacPro, working great so far. I did have to reset my sync history in iSync to get it to work, I kept getting a error with contacts plugin before that.

So far I have had any other issues, I love the BT syncing I can just open the missingsync app on my Bold and select "sync" without even having to be at the computer. There is a option to automatically have it sync at a set interval while in proximity of computer, but I haven't tried it out yet.

Only other things I haven't tried, is syncing tasks, or folder, all other syncing works fine, or at least I haven't found a error anywhere.

It wont connect for me, It keeps saying for me to make sure that the missing sync app is started on my BB. What app on my BB? I downloaded the porgram on my mac desktop, i did not see anyway to download an app to my BB itself.

there is a MissingSync app needed on your BB for the new version to work.

Here's the OTA download link:

Anyone else have any feedback for this beta?

I noticed after syncing my Bold with the Missing Sync that my VMWare Windows won't recognize my device as a USB device.

Also, when connected via Missing Sync, my Bold is known as "unknown".

Anyone else have this issue?

I'm gonna give it a try. I got the official Blackberry Media Sync app for my Macbook Pro and it works perfectly. I'm only able to sync my iTunes library but I'm still looking for something that syncs my address book, mail, entourage, everything else.

good luck - i've tried every version of 2.0.x and have not been able to sync my contacts and calendar. be sure to back up your device first since i have had to restore it many times and in one case wipe the device. i don't see how they are calling this a production product yet. their support takes forever to get back to you so don't count on that either.

The release version is out. I paid to upgrade and it works. Now I can have playlist AND calender and Contacts sync.
