Default Cannot get browser to work for 9530 simulator

Please Login to Remove!

I installed the Blackberry 9530-Verizon simulator and have been unable to browse with it. I do have MDS running. Also, it works with the 8130-Verizon simulator. To be specific, the MDS simulator I have is the "BlackBerry® Email and MDS Services Simulator Package v4.1.2 (Bundle 17)". One other thing I noticed is that in the 9530 simulator, if I go under Manage Connections > Services Status, under "Blackberry Internet Service" it says "Connection: not connected".

Anybody have any idea how to get this working. I've searched on the forums and google and have found other people with browser issues with the 9530 simulator, but solutions proposed haven't helped me so far. Any ideas?

i would suggest to ask the question in the official forums, MSohm can probably help you.

Thanks, I did post something over there, but I'd posted it in the Browser Development forum. I just asked the moderator if he could move it to Java development so I'll see if I have any more luck.

You need to install the newer version of MDS. I believe it is 4.1.5 and it ships with the JDE 4.7

So what exactly do I need to do once I have the JDE 4.7 installed? I had downloaded 4.6 and after running it I didn't really have a clue what I was supposed to do. I could tell it could be used to build/run java apps, but I'm not building anything, just running an existing simulator. Is there a specific place to launch MDS from the JDE console? Thanks for your help, and I'll download this immediately and see what I can figure out.

You open your START menu, find the JDE under "Research in Motion", and click where it says "MDS-CS"
