Default Installation of applications, games, etc.

Now, as I understand it, apps and games and such need to be in the .alx and .cod format in order to be installed. However, many of the games come in the .jad and .jar formats, even when you select the version of the game for this specific phone. So, am I missing something here, a way to get these formats to work in the phone, or are the websites I'm looking at just incorrect?

I may be incorrect, but I believe jad and jar are for OTA (over the air)installation. So in theory you could direct your device browser to the game site and download.

I hope this helps

Thanks, but I found an even easier way. If you use the media manager and put the Jad/jar files into a new folder, then you can just install them on the phone without needing a date plan or anything. You go to media, hit menu -> explore, and find them. Installing them works just like OTA.
