Default Web access not working on 7100t?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey there guys,

I am brand new to blackberry as of today. The phone and its related functions seem very nice so far. The problem I am having is that I am not able to access the web or Instant messaging, or anything relating to internet access? Is there something that needs to be done to the phone, I have the blackberry plan, does it take an extended period of time for it to be activated?

thanks in advance,

Kevin

T-Mobile told me that it can take up to 24 hours for your data services to be activated when I first signed up. so maybe give it some more time.

It usually should happen almost instantly though.. login to the bwc site and send the service books to your device.

Since you're new, here are some tips to get started.

Go to T-Mobile's web-client site to get your POP email redirecting setup. You can also push your service books (sort of like keys to unlock the functionality of your device) - they need to come from the Blackberry Web Client (BWC) in order to work. Sometimes they get pushed automatically, sometimes it helps to push them along.

Here's the URL:

It took mine overnight. I picked up the phone around 5 p.m. and noticed all of the remaining icons for web, etc. on the phone when I turned it on the next morning. By now (since you posted yesterday), you've probably got it up and running.

Enjoy!

"Pushing" the service books to your phone does not always work through the Blackberry Web Client. I contacted TMO customer service, followed these instructions and then everything has worked perfectly ever since.

Please try selecting Tools -> Settings -> Host Routing Table. In this list, scroll to the one hightlighted in BOLD and select it. Choose the option to "Register now". THis should prompt the network to deliver the service books.

If you must have email wherever you go, this is it. Now we just need a copy and paste function so that we can keep some canned email replies handy for quick reponses.

You can also login to TMO's site and there is an option to have the web browser and web client service books sent your phone instantly.

You will receive a text message saying that the books were received.
