Hello, first time poster and glad to be joining part of the blackberry community.
I would like to change the number of icons and manage them so that there are not that many. How can i change this ?

Dont really understand you want to change how many icons you have on the wallpaper?

Well click your BB menu Key (next to the answer key) > press it again > Options. On there you can see how many rows to enter.

Or do you mean when you click on the MAIN menu you want to hide icons ?

Well i would highlight but NOT click the icon to 'Hide' and click Menu key > Menu key again ? Hide/show.

I would like to change the number of rolls in the main menu. I tried to press the BB button twice and clivk on Options.. nothing happen. Please advise.

From you home screen click BB menu then click BB menu again , then scroll to options . Hope this helps

I did that but nothing happened.

Pull your battery out while your Blackberry is on. It will reboot and you should then be able to click on Options.

After the second click a menu pops up with the following...
Move
Move To Folder
Hide
Options*
Add Folder
Show Keyboard
Switch Application
* this the one you click , once there you'll see "Set Homescreen Layout 3Rows/2Rows/1Row
